Issue:

Two computers can ping each other by DNS name and IP address, but cannot map a drive to each other.  When a mapped drive is attempted you receive one or more of the following error messages.

 

The drive could not be mapped because no network was found

 

System error 67 occurred.

The network name cannot be found.

 

 

Cause:

One possible cause is that there is a firewall between the source and destination.

 

Solutions:

1)      Check the local computer for a firewall and disable, or configure to allow SMB traffic.

2)      Check the remote computer for a firewall and disable, or configure to allow SMB traffic.

3)      If there is a firewall on the network between the two computers, you should allow the firewall to pass SMB traffic.
